PROMAR at Earth Hour 2026 in Suriname
The Green Heritage Fund Suriname (GHFS), PROMAR's partner in Suriname, was present at the WWF Earth Hour 2026, sharing information about the wildlife found in the country's coastal and marine ecosystems. The team put particular focus on how plastic pollution threatens these species, highlighting the importance of efforts to address it.
Beyond information-sharing, the GHFS booth offered visitors a chance to get actively involved. People could take photos, take part in a plastic pollution quiz, and win prizes such as posters and stickers. The hands-on format worked well, and by the end of the event GHFS had reached around 50 people.
This participation reflects the broader work PROMAR and its partners are doing in Suriname, building awareness about plastic pollution in marine and coastal ecosystems, one community at a time.
