The Center for Environmental and Technological Management (CEGESTI) is a Costa Rican non-profit organization founded in 1992, dedicated to promoting sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean. With over three decades of experience, CEGESTI has built a strong interdisciplinary team specializing in integrated solid waste management, environmental policy, and sustainable production. The organization works with public institutions, local governments, the private sector, and communities to design and implement practical solutions that improve environmental quality and resource efficiency across the region.
In the context of the PROMAR project, CEGESTI serves as the national partner for Costa Rica, bringing its technical expertise and field experience to support efforts in marine litter prevention and circular economy. Through capacity building, technical assessments, and multi-stakeholder coordination, CEGESTI plays a key role in aligning national-level actions with regional goals under the Cartagena Convention.
