PROMAR at ISWA 2025 in Buenos Aires
PROMAR and adelphi were represented by Richard Berner at the ISWA 2025 World Congress (27–29 October, Buenos Aires), held under the motto "Towards a Wasteless Future or a Wasteful Planet?"
Richard presented PROMAR's work through both a poster and an oral presentation to an international audience of waste management experts and policymakers.
Key highlights of the oral presentation included PROMAR's capacity-building programme in the five SIDS countries— six interactive training modules on EPR design and implementation — as well as hands-on activities like stakeholder mapping, policy prototyping, and the development of national EPR roadmaps together with local industry and policymakers.
The goal: systemic change in waste governance tailored to the realities of small island developing countries.
