PROMAR Visits Every Bottle Back TT in a First Step Towards Partnership
On 24 April, the Institute of Marine Affairs (IMA), PROMAR's partner in Trinidad and Tobago, visited the facilities of Every Bottle Back TT (EBB TT) alongside representatives from the Ministry of Planning, Economic Affairs and Development and a content creator supporting project promotion.
EBB TT collects plastic bottles from citizens across the country, sorts them by plastic classification, and compresses them into bales for export, primarily to South America. There, the material is processed into resins, which return to Trinidad and Tobago and serve as raw material for new plastic items. Seeing this circular loop in practice gave the visiting team a clearer picture of what local plastic recycling can achieve at scale.
The visit marks one more step in the partnership between IMA, PROMAR, and EBB TT, which is working towards the implementation of a pilot case to support circular economy interventions in Trinidad and Tobago. More updates will follow as the collaboration develops!
