Beach Clean Up- Taddy Bay Airport, The British Virgin Islands
🌍 Community Action in the British Virgin Islands: A United Effort to Protect Our Oceans 🌿
In a powerful demonstration of community and corporate collaboration, April marked a milestone for environmental stewardship in the British Virgin Islands. Our local partners hosted their first PROMAR beach cleanup at Taddy Bay International Airport, Virgin Gorda, uniting passionate volunteers and environmentally conscious businesses to combat marine plastic pollution.
This impactful event was made possible through the combined efforts of Tradewind Aviation, Little Dix Bay resort, and dedicated local organizers, showcasing what can be achieved when we work together for the planet.
🌟 By the Numbers:
✅ 30 volunteers rallied for the cause
✅ 1,210 lbs of mostly plastic debris removed from the shoreline
✅ 150 meters (490 feet) of coastline restored
The cleanup not only removed significant amounts of harmful waste from the marine environment but also strengthened the sense of collective responsibility across communities and industries.
This initiative is part of our broader mission to protect our oceans and promote sustainable practices through strategic partnerships. By bringing together corporate partners, community members, and conservation advocates, we are fostering a culture of environmental care and resilience across the Caribbean.
🌊 A Measurable Impact
Every piece of plastic removed, every foot of coastline cleaned, and every volunteer engaged represents a step closer to healthier oceans and a more sustainable future.
A heartfelt thank you to all who participated in this event — your commitment to preserving the natural beauty and ecological integrity of our shores is making a real difference.
Let’s continue to build on this momentum. Together, we can turn the tide on marine litter.
