Annual Project Update Meeting- Suriname
Celebrating Progress: Year 1 Update of the Prevention of Marine Litter Project in Suriname
Our Partner’s in Suriname marked a significant milestone for the Prevention of Marine Litter in the Caribbean Sea project, as they proudly host the Year 1 Project Update meeting in collaboration with the Ministerie van Ruimtelijke Ordening en Milieu.
This gathering brought together key stakeholders from government, civil society, the private sector, and technical partners to reflect on the progress made over the past year and to strengthen the collective commitment to tackling marine litter in Suriname.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in dynamic and interactive sessions designed to share achievements, exchange insights, and co-create ideas for the way forward. The meeting showcased the actions already taken to reduce plastic pollution, improve waste management practices, and increase community awareness—laying the groundwork for even greater impact in the years ahead.
♻️ By fostering open dialogue and collaboration, the project continues to build momentum in the fight against marine litter—protecting Suriname’s natural beauty, coastal communities, and the wider Caribbean Sea.
Together, we are turning knowledge into action for a cleaner, healthier future. 🌊
