Parley for the Oceans was founded in 2012 as a global network and environmental organization dedicated to the protection of the oceans through collaboration, education, and eco-innovation. It introduced the AIR Strategy – Avoid, Intercept, Redesign as a response to marine plastic pollution. In the Dominican Republic, Parley established its national presence shortly after, working closely with communities, government institutions, and the private sector to address marine litter and build awareness around ocean conservation.
Since then, Parley Dominican Republic has led impactful clean-up initiatives, supported circular economy solutions, and empowered youth through education and coastal stewardship programs. Its efforts directly contribute to the reduction of plastic pollution and the preservation of coastal ecosystems across the country.
As a national partner of the PROMAR project, Parley for the Oceans – Dominican Republic supports implementation by mobilizing community-based actions, promoting sustainable waste management practices, and advancing marine conservation strategies that align with regional goals under the Cartagena Convention.
