EPA & PROMAR Guyana Team Bring ICC 2025 Message to the Airwaves
In preparation for International Coastal Clean-Up (ICC) 2025, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in collaboration with the PROMAR Guyana Team, carried out a series of radio interviews across major national and regional stations.
These broadcasts formed part of the “Naw Dutty de Place” campaign, which aims to promote environmental responsibility, reduce littering, and inspire participation in the upcoming coastal clean-up exercises.
The interviews focused on the significance of ICC’s 40th anniversary, the threat of marine litter to Guyana’s rivers and coastline, and the legal framework surrounding improper waste disposal under the Environmental Protection Act Cap. 20:05.
Listeners were encouraged to volunteer at cleanup sites such as the Kingston Seawall and 63 Beach. The discussions also emphasised the role of the PROMAR Project in supporting policy development, education, and community engagement to combat marine pollution in the Caribbean.
